June 2, 2018 by Alex Greenzweig News, Results

The racing action sure didn’t disappoint last night as the track, racers, and fans would beat mother nature to squeak another week of racing into the books. The track also had a special treat last night with a special appearance by NASCAR xFinity Driver Spencer Boyd and his crew. Even with a lighter than normal kart count of forty-four entries, the racers put on exciting wheel to wheel action in each of the nine class for the eager fans of Snydersville Raceway. Here are the results from this Friday.
Snydersville Veteran Jason Wolfe dominated the Briggs Stock Light Money Race but not without pressure from the young gun Alex Kolonics looking to continue his money race winning streak. The two would battle it out with Wolfe getting constant pressure from Kolonics and after multiple attempts to get the lead, it wouldn’t be enough to get by and Jason Wolfe pocketed the $150 and added another win to his book. Alex Kolonics came home in a close second place, Bobby Smith rounded out the podium in third, and Brandon Cochran finished in fourth. DNS- Justin Morgan, Paul Morgan Jr.
Mason Jenkin took home the win in the Kid Karts.
The Jr. Sportsman Champs put on an exciting wheel to wheel race as the front runners Cadence Freeman and Griffin Hendershot swapped it back and fourth for the top spot but as the laps ticked away, Cadence Freeman had the upper hand and took the lead. She lead the rest of the 15-lap Feature to take home another feature win. Griffin Hendershot took home second and Tre Mammana rounded out the field in third.
Alex Kolonics didn’t go home empty handed as he picked up the Regular Briggs Stock Light division win over Defending Class Champion Matthew Rodenbach, finishing in second. Bobby Smith rounded out the field, finishing in third.
Eric Freeman took the win in the Sr. Clone Heavy division.
Cadence Freeman continue her win streak picking up her second win on the evening in the Jr. Sportsmans. Jayce Brown rallied his way but fell short, finishing in second. Griffin Hendershot struggled to get the kart rolling and rounded out the top three. Austin Sieberg took home the fourth position in the class and Eric Lieb rounded out the field in fifth.
John Wolfe, a veteran of The Ville, took home the win in the Briggs Stock Heavy feature as he rallied from the rear of the six car field. Justin Morgan, experienced Street Stock racer, ran right with Wolfe for the whole feature but didn’t have enough to get by to settle in second. Matthew Rodenbach also in the mix of the top two, ran out of time to make any move finishing in third. Tyler Evans made his returning debut to karting at Snydersville and came home with a fourth place finish. Paul Morgan Jr. took home a top five finish, and Zach Evans had his night end early finishing sixth, with a DNF.
Steven Frindt showed he was top of the Microstock class as he dominated the eight car field, picking up his fifth win of the 2018 season. Tom Arntz unable to catch Frindt settled for second place. Charlie Shaver struggled with a tight car in the later half of the race but held of the pressure from behind to take home a top three finish. Dillon Emmons showed a ton more speed this week but ran out of time to take home fourth. Timothy Flyte stayed in the mix of the highly competitive class and took home another top five finish. 6th- Matt Ackerman, 7th- Matt Gyurkovics, DNS- Cale Van Noordt
The AllStar Slingshots went door to door in their 20-lap feature as the top three swapped it back and fourth for the top spot. Dillon Emmons would win out the battle after a late race restart to get past Greg Zellman for the win. Greg Zellman led the majority of the race but the car tightened up to force him to finish second. Andrew Turpin after missing the heat rallied back to round out with a third place finish, and Matthew Mertz ran into the mechanical problems after being in the top three car mix to finish in fourth.
The Sr. Flathead Champs saw a ton of passing and the finish coming down to an exciting photo finish. John Martinsky Sr. pocketed his first ever win in a side-by-side finish with seasoned veteran, Bob Wilson, beating him at the line by 0.036 seconds. Bob Wilson missing it out by inches finished in a close second. Jack O’Connor rallied from the rear and was catching the top two but ran out laps to take home a third place finish. Paul Valent took home a fourth place finish after swapping spots for most of the race, and Chris Hendershot rounded out the top five in the Sr. Flathead Champs. 6th- Hunter Smith, 7th- John Martinsky Jr.
We want to thank everyone for coming out last night and putting on some great racing. We hope you enjoyed the short track racing action in the Poconos and we hope to see you next Friday for the RG Hoffman Electrical SlingFest where the AllStar Slingshot Tour will be running for $500 to win and the Jr. Slingshot Tour will be going for $350 to win, plus we have all weekly divisions of Karts, Champs, Micrstocks, and Quarter Midgets to round the show.
