The 2018 Season is rapidly approaching for the 1/8 mile clay oval and this year Snydersville Raceway will be seeing a few new events added the already busy schedule. This year, weekly point racing, various weekly money races, many different series, special events, and memorial races will be taking place to make up a 34 race season for the speedway consisting of 29 points events and 5 special events.
Our season is planned to start on Saturday, March 24 with The De-Icer. The De-Icer will consist of a Regular Show format (heats & features) with payouts but will not have any season points.
Season points will begin the week after on Friday, March 30. From there we go full bore into the 2018 season with weekly points racing, money races and specials taking place.
The Spring Quarter Midget Super Nationals will be taking place on Friday, April 27 with the Beginner, Novice, Honda 120, Honda 160, Animal, & World Formula divisions taking to 1/8 mile along with our complete Friday Night Show of Karts, Champs, Microstocks, & Slingshots.
Pocono Raceway will be joining us for Pocono Raceway Night on Friday, May 18 with the Pace Car on display, Free Ticket Giveaways, and Goodies to be had. A Regular Show plus a 35 lap, $200 to win Pocono Qualifer Race for the Microstock Animal 206 division. The race will be cone race for the division.
The Eddie Marzigliano Memorial will highlight our Regular Show on Friday, May 25 where the Sr. Flathead Champ division will be running for $300 to win and a trophy.
Bob Hoffman of R.G. Hoffman Electrical Contractors LLC will be teaming up with Snydersville to be the headline sponsor of the 2018 SlingFest on Friday, June 8 where the Tobias AllStar Slingshot Tour and Jr. Slingshot Tour will compete for Series Points, Cash, and the Win. The winner of the AllStar Slingshot Tour will get a cool $500 with a Big Check and the Junior Slingshot Tour winner will get $350 and a Big Check.
The Pocono Shootout Weekend is one of the new highlights to 2018 season with the first ever two day show in the history at Snydersville held on Friday, June 15 & Saturday, June 16. The Friday portion will highlight a Regular Show with all classes running in addition of series and money races. Saturday will highlight an 11 division day with 3 series and plenty of cash classes on the cards. Currently one of New York’s hottest kart series, The Wing Champ Kart Series, with 40 plus drivers for the one division series, will be making the trek to the Pocono’s for their first series race at Snydersville. Friday Night the Wing Champs will be running for a $250 to win Prelude to the Shootout, and on Saturday the WCRS will be going for a cool $500 to win the Pocono Shootout. The race tracks own Sr. Animal Champ division will be joining the event as well with a $250 to win Money Race on Friday Night and a $500 to win Money Race on Saturday. Many of the WCRS racers will be doubling up on the Champ divisions in hopes to double up on the prize money. Making a return to speedway after a 5 year hiatus is the Fast & Furious Empire Unlimited AllStars. Steve Windle, coordinator for the Empire UAS, will be rallying up his racers to go conquer the bullring. The UAS Karts will run on Friday and Saturday of the Pocono Shootout Weekend! The last time the Empire UAS karts attended was in 2013 where John Garde took the win against the stacked field of series racers and Snydersville racers. The Fast and Exciting Karts of PA Wing Outlaw Kart Series will be making a stop in Pocono’s for the third year in a row during the Saturday portion of the Pocono Shootout. The PA Wings are the fastest karts to ever hit the track with the lap record standing at 10.808 secs set by Brandon Hetrick in 2016. The Mighty Microstock Animal 206 division will be joining in the action with a Regular Race on Friday Night and on Saturday a $250 to win, 40 Lap Cone Race. The division will time trial for there spots but with a twist for the top 6 qualifiers. The first ever Match Race will be utilized to qualify the top 6 starting spots in one vs. one, 1 lap shootout with the winner advancing and then picking his next opponent to race. Also joining the Saturday fun will be the Briggs Stock Heavy, Sr. Clone Heavy, Briggs Super Heavy, Jr. Sportsman Champs, Jr. Restricted, and Kid Kart divisions. Briggs Stock Heavy & Sr. Clone Heavy divisions will run for $300 to win, Briggs Super Heavy will be $200 to win, and the Jr. Sportsman Champs & Jr. Restricteds will go for $150 to win.
New this year, the Outlaw Triple Crown Shootout Mower Series will be making there first ever appearance on Saturday, June 30. The popular series is nationally known, traveling as far North as New York and as far South as South Carolina. The Series will bring in roughly mowers from all over the east coast for this event. The mower will have a practice race on Friday, June 29 along with our Regular Show. Also joining them that day will be the Microstocks as they duke it out for $250 to win in a 40 Lap Cone Race, plus an assortment of other kart classes (which will be announced at a later date).
The Walt Smith Memorial is back for the 9th year where the Briggs Stock Heavy division will battle it out for $300 to win and a big check on Friday, July 6.
Through the months of July and August, the Microstock Racing League and the World Formula Microstock Tour will be making there return for 3-4 races in 2018.
The Always Exciting Art Cronce Sr. Memorial will once again be held on Friday, July 28 where the Sr. Animal Champs will run for $500 to win.
The AllStar Slingshots will have the West End Qualifiers Race on Friday, August 10 with the winner getting $300 and a becoming a guaranteed starter in the A-Main at the West End Fair Dirt-a-Rama.
On Friday, August 17, Snydersville Raceway will be taking the week off for the Tricky Triangle Microstock & Champ Kart Race at Pocono Raceway. A 1/7 mile paved oval will be setup at the end of pit road where racers will get a once in lifetime chance to race and win at the Tricky Triangle! The Snydersville Raceway Promoting Staff will be working in conjunction with Classic Racing Times who is putting the event together, to help put on this event at Pocono Raceway. Details on the event will be posted soon.
The West End Fair Dirt-a-Rama is making the return for the 2018 season, where 9 exciting divisions and over 140 cars will pound the 1/7 mile clay oval at the West End Fair on Monday, August 20. Over $10,000 in cash and prizes are distributed among all the divisions. Classes and Purse will be announced at a later date.
As we near the final two months of racing we will have a First Responders Night on Friday, September 7 where the Microstocks will have 50 Lap Cone Race and the $300 will be up for grabs along with our Regular Show. First Responders will receive a free pass.
The week after, the Dale Kuhne Memorial for Clone Heavy will take place with a prize of $547 to win the memorial. It will also go along with our Regular Show on Friday, September 14.
On the first week of October we will host our Biggest Event of 2018, The 6th Annual Thunder at The Ville. Last year this race produced a staggering amount of cars to tune of 150 entries and over $12,000 in payout, prizes, and contingencies. The event will be held on Saturday, October 6. Classes, Payouts, and Schedule to be announced at a later date.
We finish out the racing portion of the season on Friday, October 26 with Fright Night at The Ville! A $250 to win Pumpkin Run 25 for the Briggs Stock Heavy division, a Regular Show and the Fall Quarter Midget Super Nationals will conclude the season.
